ECHOSENS: FIBROSCAN®
14/05/2009 : New indication for the FibroScan®
The HAS (French Health High Authority) enlarges the FibroScan®
indication from the dec 2006 report with a new indication: the
co-infection VIH-VHC.
Since 2009 in France, FibroScan® holds a new place in therapeutic strategy: as a solid evaluation tool for all populations.
- In cases of chronic untreated hepatitis C patients, HAS recommended the FibroScan® in first line and in second line instance as an alternative to liver biopsy (LB).
- In the case of VHC-VIH co-infection, HAS recommended only the FibroScan® in first line to evaluate cirrhosis.
- The big news is also that the HAS has opened the door to the free blood markers as Hepascore.
