The May 19th, World Hepatitis Day , Echosens has established actions in over 40 countries worldwide. In Europe, Echosens actively participated.

Echosens supports the World Hepatitis Day
Today, we estimate at 500 millions, one person on 12, the number of individuals infected by the hepatitis B or C viruses (ten times more than the number of persons contaminated by the HIV). Too many people ignore being affected by these chronic diseases because it may not show symptoms for a very long time. The aim of the World hepatitis Day is to inform the population and to increase knowledge and communication to health authorities.
FibroScan®, is a unique medical device allowing physical measurement of the hepatic elasticity. This innovative diagnosis technique, dedicated to liver, quantifies the "Hepatic fibrosis level» from child to adult, of any morphology. Non-invasive, non expensive and fast, FibroScan® is adapted for local actions of measure of the severity of hepatic diseases.

 In Spain : An awareness campaign on Hepatitis Infection « Score a goal to Hepatitis »
[Madrid] Echosens Iberia played a vital match in Madrid: “Score a Goal to Hepatitis!”. Echosens and the Spanish Association of Liver Diseases and Transplant (FNETH) with its admirable president and sportsman Carlos Sanz joined their forces. To make people aware of the importance of Hepatitis Infections beyond geographical and psychological boundaries. The rival is ignorance. The referee was the Royal Spanish Federation of Football (RFEF).
 In China: Hepatitis Disease Patients Education and Complimentary Consultation Campaign
[Shanghai] Echosens Beijing united with 8 local health associations launched a 3 day’s ”Hepatitis Patient’s Education and Complimentary Consultation Campaign” in Shanghai from the 17th to the 19th of May, 2009. Nearly 50 doctors from 10 local Hospitals involved in this program. More than 500 hepatitis patients attended the Health lectures and free consultation. Echosens provided a FibroScan® for Liver Fibrosis Evaluation, and more than 200 patients received an examination. Shanghai Health Education Association gave great support for this Campaign.
 In France: All the team mobilized for the WHD
[Paris] A picture of the whole team was made in front of the Eiffel Tower with the colours of the WHD.
[Pointe à pitre (Guadeloupe)] Following the measure day, a TV report was dedicated to the FibroScan® on RFO Guadeloupe channel. This report showed Dr Saillard using FibroScan®.
 In Germany: Free measurement days
[Bielefeld] For the World Hepatitis day, Echosens Germany showed once more its closeness to the patients and organized, in one of the major gastroenterology practice in the west part of Germany, a free measurements day. Numerous patients came, some of them from far away, to have a FibroScan® examination and Dr. Heuer was very satisfied about the success of this action.
[Berlin] 25 patients benefited of a free FibroScan® exam with Prof. Von Weizäcker in the Parkklinik Berlin.
