Financial partners allow Echosens to open new medical perspectives and to impose new technology at an international scale, therefore developing French research.

History

Created in 2001, originating in French public research, Echosens generated revenues of 7.2 million Euros in 2007. International sales represent 75% of revenues (25% in France). In 2007 the company invested 15% of its revenues in R&D activities and has more that 17 dedicated researchers.

  • 2001: Creation of the company Echosens SA, supported by the ANVAR (OSEO)
  • 2002: First clinical trials
  • 2003: Obtaining of the CE mark for FibroScan®
  • 2004: Investment by OTC and Cap Décisif, beginning of the commercialisation of FibroScan® with dedicated probe in France
  • 2007: Creation of 3 subsidiaries in Spain, Germany and China
  • 2010: More than 900 FibroScan® installed worldwide
  • 2011: Inner Mongolia Free Han & Mongolia Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd (Furui) acquire Echosens.

Awards

Echosens has been awarded on several occasions for its innovations, in France and internationally (supported by ANVAR (National Agency for the Valorisation of Research), Prix Janus 2003, Frost & Sullivan Innovative Award 2007, Researcher’s Award 2007), and intends to continue its innovations for the improved comfort of patients.

  • 2000: Winner of the Competition for the creation of innovative technology enterprises, organised by the Minister of Research
  • 2002: Winner of the Aventis-Institut de France foundation
  • 2004: FibroScan® received first prize in the Competition of Innovative Medical Technologies organised by the AGBM (Association of French Bio-medical Engineers) at the Hospital Exhibition, Prix Janus, Competition of Industrial Design received for FibroScan ®
  • 2007: Frost & Sullivan Medical Equipment Award, Researcher of the Year Award - Mr Laurent Sandrin - co-founder, Engineer of the Year Award - Mr Sylvain Yon - co-founder, Creator of Employment Award of the city of Paris.
